What the hell does the end of the Da Vinci Code mean?

Is Robert Langdon then somehow related to Mary Magdalane? Or what is the significance of him finding the true spot for her at the end? and what exactly is the holy grail? because I thought it was the last cup that jesus drank from but it sounds like they're calling mary magdalane the holy grail in the movie...??
