Science help?

I have a bio regents coming up and there is this one topic that i just can't grasp. Can anyone help explain it? It's the difference between mitosis and meiosis. I know that mitosis ends up with two cells and the other one ends up with four cells, but any other information you may know would be a big help! thanks
